Hold it right there! Thank you for smoking is a 2006 movie! IMDb is wrong, well...it's listed as 2005 because it debut at the Toronto Film Festival in 2005, however the actually public release date was in march 2006, which makes it a 2006 movie! And Departed was a kick ass movie that could only copy 80% of the goodness of Infernal Affairs.
When I saw my name up there, i was just wishing the post would end so I could comment and be smug, then I saw my name again and now I'm speechless.

Infernal Affair's plot was much better than The Departed, but The Departed was written better, shot better and produced better. They got the whole Boston scene down perfectly. The Departed weakness was the flow of the plot (ex: why did they pick to use a CD to reveal everything, infernal affairs had a reason for that, departed didn't), remake of IA and the cheap ending. As for V, the world-wide release date was March 17th 2006. And superman was on the list because it was a good production. It's really low on the list, but it was better than a good handful of movies. I was going to put Little Miss Sunshine on the list, but I have yet to see it.

jay : the melancholic and moody tone for infernal affairs was perfect. better than the brawny urgh argh shoot em tone that Departed adopted. but ok to be fair, i guess the gangster scenes in boston and hongkong are very different in those aspects. would have appreciated a bit of char development in Departed as well. oh you have to watch LMSunshine!! hey have u watched the black dahlia?

I wouldn't want 2006 to repeat itself the same way it did... EVER... it has been a very very BAD year for me... i've seemed to have done sooooo many things wrong... and the worst part is, not realizing it until its too late...
Now all I can hope for is for things to be back the way that they were...
