I for one wouldn't bring a lot of cash with me at any point of time. It is just plain stupid - you wouldn't know when you gonna get mugged, so never put it at risk in the first place! If you can write so much about corruption, why don't you mention this one small obligation in your blog?

Anyways, I myself was robbed at a LRT station (Plaza Rakyat) at 6:30 in the morning and when i went to the police station the Policemen actually took me on his bike and we went to search the culprit for 2 hours hoping i will be able to identify him. The police station i went to was the one behind Stadium Negara.

policeman? cab driver? government servants? They are all corrupted and very racist. In the end, they just want all Chinese to leave the country. For reasons only lazy people like them know, they always blame the Chinese for the situation that they are in. They thought the Chinese took away their rice bowl without realising or afraid to admit or in state of self denial that it is always their laziness were the root cause of their problems. lazy to work hard. lazy to try their best.... even one of the partners in a big 4 auditing firms always told the chinese staff to balik tongsang if they don't like him or don;t follow his instruction without realizing that his methods were wrong most of the time... He was what he was today because of his race, not because of his capability...and perhaps, this made him upset as there is no recognition from the top and below.....

The police are actually part of the criminal network.

I saw in a tv documentary and in newpapers that they actually demand money form snatch thieves (part of the takings of the robbers goes to the police). This is so that the police will not 'kacau' them. This is especially so for the big drug rings.

Sometimes when police are frisking people during a body search they plant drugs in your pocket or bag & then they tthreaten to arrest you unless you give them money. Many malaysians will attest to this. Be very careful when they do a search.

Our church runs a drug rehab centre and many ex-addicts tell us that when the police do operasi they can get cleared from tthe urine test if they bribe the police. The policeman will then urine in the addicts bottle & the addict sends that bottle to be ttested.

Hmm. Allow me to share my thoughts.
Firstly, i believe that we musn't over generalize the entire sector (cab drivers ) as a whole i as believe that there are genuine cabbies who use meters although i must agree and it is undeniable that the majority don't and charge ridiculous and rip off prices.

At the same time, i'm sure we are all aware of the escalating cost of living esp. in KL and how the inflation is biting in everyone and these cab drivers are not excluded as well. If they were to follow the gov't "enforced" rates, it is quite unlikely that they are able to support a family with all the basic necessities of life. (I would attribute the same reason for the way our forces are behaving)

Notwithstanding that, i am against the deplorable attitude of the majority of our police force and cab drivers. I salute those minority who refuse to be in the flow and still hold on to integrity and work ethics.

However, unless the root of the problem (in my humble opinion) which is the fact that these people find it difficult to provide a decent living for their family if they were to follow the system entirely, i'm afraid not many of those 'honest' ones are able to last long.

A note to pink pau, I admire your civic conciousness, the fact that you attended the Bersih rally and continue to jot articles that will champion the cause of a better Malaysia for all.

Been in melbourne for 4 years already. However, i'm still very attached to issues in Malaysia that are dear to my heart. To all the young people out there. If only all young malaysians are more conscious of many issues that are plaguing our beloved Nation. Let us unite, work together and built a better Malaysia.

Malaysia might not be the greatest country but do know that every country has their own problems. However we all know that fundamentals of our country (economically, socially, public order) has been shaken. (Mongolian Bombed, KOREK KOREK KOREK, house in perth, Istana CIAK KAH LIOW (Zakaria in Hokkien), temples destroyed, escalating living cost to name a few.

Therefore, if you are eligible, i implore you to register as a voter for the upcoming election. Please vote with your head.

Just penning my thoughts.... =)

Well, dont forget teachers are gov servants too! You have ur basic edu in gov sch except that u r filthy rich kids who have perants to send u to private or even international schools! Yeah, teachers some r bad who dont teach in class but force u to go to their tuition but hey! i have teachers who r so gooood, they sacrifice their time and money to ensure us the not so bright students get good results in our public enaminations
Some even ask us not to waste money on tuition, just listen in class, do their work, n some of my friends and seniors got excellent results without even goin for tuitions!
Some even offer us prizes if we gert good results in our sch exAM! most of them are not racist maybe a handful of them the black sheeps only!
some teachers have to act tough because the principals hteses days are so chicken to handle discipline problems
afreid the rich parents dont contribute to schools anymore if they reprimand and punish their spoilbrats!!!!]
yeah, i admit some of the police force are so rasuah driven, but hey the minorities of the police r striving to help the ctizens ok.....
the ic department n pasport are so efficient now!

Government servants are really hopeless. They just like to sit in the office, go for tea and receive money at the end of the month. And they all think it is their rights to "goyang kaki"!!! To do:

3. At 3.30pm sharp, crumple the newspapers and throw them inside the rubbish bins.

malaysian chinese : lol i agree. Though not whole heartedly, but there is a study about the Malaysian Chinese community done by i think some dudette here. She claimed that the chinese community is a dichotomy ... split into two actually. One is the English speaking chinese.. and the other is the Chinese Chinese. They make up 70% of chinese and are more in the know of events happening in Taiwan then in Msia. They refuse to integrate, and insist on remaining in purely chinese schools.

Funny though. Why would the chinese lady have laughed at u for?

With our qualifications, we can enter t he governemtn sectors, and if we are very much discriminated, we can just pack up and go to industry anyway. But no one wants to even try. Cos they THINK it is crap. Raising pay will not change anything, u know why? there is no incentive for them to stop. Human greed is a funny thing. You increase pay on one hand means bribes must be higher. What u do is increase pay but deregulate the ACA. Give an anonymous phone number people can call to report.
Sadly, most government organisations do not run on a merit based promotion system, they promote u based on seniority/need. And its always about who u know anyway. Even in industry, its dog eat dog.

bash: who says u have to bribe them? You commit a crime means you commit a crime, and the consequence is ur lesen is suspended. The reason why they cut off ur points so easily is so it would deter u from doing all that in the first place.

For those of you who were in the KLCC area on Friday afternoon would know that it was raining cats and dogs ... I had to go to a bank and was wet all along Jalan P. Ramlee simply because the instruction given to me by a female officer was misleading at worst, and unclear at best. After forward and reverse a couple times, I decided to take shelter in a cafe or something ... as I walked into the pavement, a Chinese lady laughed at me. Nevermind, maybe she can tell me where the bank is ... guess what she didn't bother to answer ... what kind of attitude is this? That's the worst part, not of laughing but of blowing you off even before you have chance to say something ... such cynicism, prejudice, hypocrisy, double-standards, cowardice, selfishness, typical of the Chinaman mentality ...

Police are corrupt no doubt ... but racist? No more racist than cops in America who are even more racist against the blacks. I am really surprised at the comments made here by the Malaysian Chinese. I'm Malaysian Chinese myself, but most of the Chinese females I come across seem so flirty, friendly, cosy, etc. with Malay men and hostile towards me, I think the complaints are just weird. I suffer the same institutionalised discrimination too, and yet the strongest support I have are from my Malay colleagues at a public university.

You Malaysian Chinese deserve the government you vote and will probably treat the Malays like shit if the special position is removed from the Constitution. And you treat your like fellow Malaysian Chinese like shit. So, who gives the shit about your complaints? Get the point?
