i always felt like there was a chocolate mooncake waiting somewhere out there for me.. hahaa.. yay!
lalita : hey i've missed you! :D haha wow i cant believe you so readily accept the idea of sambal mooncake! everyone i know is only sold after they taste it
jay : it's this round palmsized Chinese confectionery. traditionally it has lotus paste (sweet, sticky?) in it, then baked to look like the outside of the mooncake in the first pic. the other type you have is snowskin mooncake, where the skin is made out of glutinious rice flour, and is soft and cold and tastes like icing sugar :D both are very yummy. we have it for the Mid Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival as some people call it. you can follow the wikipedia url i've left at the top of the post!
sieutheng : tai thong! tai thong! dont buy overseas -_- actually tong kee also not bad. hey did u know that in half a mooncake, there are like 400 calories. haha on average, we burn 1300 calories a day.
archangel : very nice wan! get out of your kampung and go try!

sandra : haha talking bout it makes u fat? then eating it leh?
its very very moist.
the birdnest mooncake is from lou hong ka. some birdnest shop where u can find almost in every shopping centre. i dont think its has an english name.
But yes, I figure that I love sambal and I love mooncake and sometimes when you are in the mood for savoury-sweet, these things do really sound appealing! Does that make any sense at all even in a twisted way?
i want to taste the chocolate mooncake!
argh..frustrating,everytime i see this post, theres an all new craving T-T
Haha... The Taiwanese Student's Assocation is actually having a Mooncake Festival Celebration, and apparently they're selling mooncakes there. Only thing is, I was warned the mooncakes are really, really pricy. Like NZ$15 for a small one? 0_o
The sambal mooncake sounds quite nice, actually. Makes a change from all the sweet, sweet mooncakes. and for some reason, I can't stand green tea mooncakes. Can't quite figure out why. ^^"
Next time~
vvens : i just tried this one from Amway called Pearl Delight. i have no idea what it is ... haha it's like black in colour?? but doesnt taste like sesame. it's very nice! and ur right, very moist :D eh lou hong ka. damn expensive!
lalita : aww take care of yourself, ok? and yes the sweet savoury combo is scrumptious .. :)
