'tis late, i know - still, i need to iterate that i found this post (and its comments) utterly refreshing. i have similar views and there is not one moment i can freely say what i want about it for fear of inciting hatred. maybe ISA detention haha.

but it is no laughing matter when we cannot question a constitution that was created in the late 1950s - blatant in placing malays and sabah/sarawakian natives in a special position, which based on today's standards, smacks of discrimination. i am all for helping a fellow malaysian with no regards to race or religion, but what i don't get is the denial of opportunities in work, loans and education just because i do not fall under the "special" category. yet, when singapore was making a huge hoo-ha over the water pricing, malaysia told them to stop living in the past and move forward to the future.

wait, say WHAT?

our blessed leaders claim to desire advancements - selective distortion, no? how can we say we ask to move forward when we still treat other races as 2nd class? oh, no such thing as 2nd class? then why are we told to leave malaysia for china, india, etc.? are we not worthy of carrying the malaysian nationality simply because we are dissatisfied with certain issues? or ungrateful? we have been here for the last 2-3 generations and still, we are made to feel that since we have not been here longer, we have less right to speak up about this. 2ND CLASS, i say.

we are a democracy. at least, i think we are. practice what we preach.

* to tergelak sebentar: thank you for trying to understand why other races have felt marginalised, whether or not it is an undisputed fact. i only wish more people were like you:)

so of course it is a bit, correction .. 100% biased and unfair to us...
and yes, muslims can get away with everything... urh..
thank god dap and pkr won so many seats in this year's elections!!!...
cant wait for the day to come when all those stupid racist 'leaders' finally get replaced...

i want to share this with you.

it's the first day of university for the 5,000 students seated in the hall. the vice chancellor gets up to make a speech. and the first words out of his mouth are about how lucky we are that they the government created this akta which allows, nay, INSISTS that admission into public university (which is run by tax payers' money - OF ALL RACES) is decided based on race and NOT MERIT. also, he says, we should be grateful for the same akta as we wouldn't have vice chancellors of a specific race as before the akta it was based on merit and therefore it was unfair. so he told us - be grateful for we live in a fair country.

and you know what? of the 5,000 students seated there 4,999 took no offense with that *bleep*ing speech.

HUH?!?!?!?!?!

that is antipathy for you. or maybe they just weren't paying attention (i hope). or maybe they agreed with the jack***. shouldn't alarm bells be going off when some "yang berhormat yada-yada" can admit the wrongful manipulations of our ruling government in front of thousands. not only admit but brag about it and admonishing the audience to "bersyukur".

this brings to mind something i read about islam. one of their principles states that we should have "the right person for the right job". clearly this is being violated.

i say, where is fariness? where is equality? where is common shame, at least? to brag about how you stole the job you have from some deserving person. i am finally speechless.

Disebabkan dua orang Islam yang sangat cetek pengetahuannya tentang agama mereka sendiri, tercetuslah isu yang sebegini. Haih. Kononnya mereka hebat. Kononnya mereka saja yang betul. Orang-orang sebegini lah yang menyebabkan bangsa Melayu dan agama Islam dipandang rendah oleh masyarakat kita. Bak kata pepatah,kerana nila setitik,rosak susu sebelanga.
Kalau semua orang berfikiran kolot macam dua orang tu, sampai bila pun kita tak maju. You know, people like them are the ones that tarnish the beauty of the religion. Islam does not teach its followers to downgrade other relegions. Since little, we are thought to respect other people, regardless their race and religion. Tak ada satu pun agama kat dunia ni yang menyuruh kita keji agama lain. I just don't understand why some people act the way they do. Akal ada, tapi entah lah letaknya kat mana. Boleh pulak nak suruh orang bukan Islam men-tattoo kan ayat sebegitu di dahi. To me, those two + denied + fedup are just plain stupid and ignorant. Memalukan betul. Cakap tanpa berfikir. Yes, I'm a Muslim. And I'm embarassed by the fact that there are Muslims like them. They're only muslim on the surface. Hanya pada nama. Pada dasarnya, Tuhan saja yang tahu. Ask them, whether they know the real meaning of Islam. Ask them, whether they practice the teachings in the Quran. I don't think so. For a true Muslim doesn't act that way. Downgrading other race and relegions. Lain kali, sebelum memandai nak cakap apa-apa, cermin lah diri tu dulu. Main sedap mulut je nak cakap. Apa yang diperkatakan tak berasas pulak tu. Tsk tsk tsk. Malu lah pada diri sendiri. Dan jika benar mereka tu Islam, malu lah pada Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah maha mengetahui,maha mendengar dan maha melihat apa yang kamu lakukan. And to malays out there, jangan lah cepat melatah bila orang mengata kaum melayu. Apa yang orang kata tu semua nya betul. Kalau orang kata sikit je dah nak melatah, sampai bila pun tak maju dik oi. Sudah-sudah lah tu menyalahkan orang lain. Just because Malays have the privilege, doesnt mean the country belongs to you. Bagi pengiktirafan sikit, dah lupa diri. Bak kata Mahathir, melayu memang mudah lupa. Tak sedar diuntung.
But do bear in mind, not all malays are like that. Jangan disebabkan seorang dua yang berkelakuan buruk, semua orang melayu dan orang Islam dipandang serong. I don't intend to kutuk orang melayu.
I'm a malay too. But what to do, it's all facts. Truth hurts, reality bites, no? Anyways, yeah. Good job PinkPau! You're not hesitant in voicing out your opinion. Keep 'em coming! :)

*shaking head*: for the record, we don't dislike malays or islam or muslims in general. i am all pro-bangsa malaysia, i am pro democracy. but i am disagreeing with many of our policies that i am sure is detrimental not only to malaysia, but malaysians and malays.

Most of you in here are still fighting about race and religion. That's exactly wat BN is looking for. The more people hate the Malays/muslims, the easier UMNO will win in this year's general election. I myself am a malay (mom's an acheh, dad's an arab/pakistani/chinese mix, so I'm malay. Go figure), and reading these kind of posts ALMOST made me want to vote for BN, out of spite! I said almost, so calm down. So please, remember that these tyrants are just a few bad seeds amongst the millions of other decent malays. We are not all stupid and slow and bodoh-sombong and power mad you know. And it's not smart to start insulting and hating the rest of the malays because of them, the hatred can backfire. See us as your allies, not your foes. and if you don't get what I meant, go learn up on the law of attraction.

sheon : well ppl from temasek and the javanese empire all knew the existence of peninsular malaysia. It doesnt really matter who found what and etc first. And the significance of parameswara isnt that much anyway. I'm sure there were other villages around on the peninsular, the aborigines im sure.

The only reason why we learn about parameswara in our history books and are supposed to be proud of it because Melaka was once an important entreport and thus, we should be proud of it.

Only when do idiots insist on non-bumis to get lost does it get stupid because the bumis, or more specifically, orang melayu (encompasses indons, bruneians, thais etc etc etc), are descendant from a people from the Isle of Taiwan. They are on the land simply because their ancestors decided to expand out of their area. And the mainland chinese and indians also expanded out, although at a later stage. There were chinese and indians on the land during the later years before the british brought them en masse, due to trade. They decided to stay there, the same way mr parameswara decided to flee from Temasek to avoid the Javanese Empire.

So if they want to ask non bumis to get lost, they should ask themselves to get lost and let the nice aborigines who stay in the hills of frasers and other areas govern our pretty land.

many researches have found clues, that the land of malaya was actually discovered waaay earlier than the era when parameswara founded melaka. i do not fully accept this as the real history, as it is still not proven to be true, without a single doubt. hence i said in my statement that it is still debatable, by the historians...not us. even history itself is never 100%...........
