Nice post su ann...except that you left out Giftcert, u kno..for the lazy :P esp if ur gal is into clothes and ur not sure what to get her.
Perfume is also a bit tricky leh....what if she likes florals but not too sweet? musky but not too masculine. Unless she has been eyeing a particular perfume then its ok lah...
What I want for Vday (not that i have anyone to get it from) is COLD HARD CASH. You cant give too little because you'll look cheap, so more is better. hehehe!

^to coco: no offense, but I have always thought giftcert to be a rather insincere gift...it is like, going to the store last minute, pick up a gift card, and then hand it to the person and ask her to buy watever she wants...so it is like giving something without much thought >_

thankfully, my vday gift for the boy has been shipped off to malaysia already. (red gift wrap, not pink. sorry. :P)

Luuurve the VDay gift ideas!!! Very good direction for the guys who have not a clue - bless them! Yummy - Leonidas chocolates. My sister gave those out at her wedding complete with lovely box with their initials (was kind of a theme thing - matching with their wedding invites and the individual menus and place cards!) Mouth wateringly yummylicious! And Be Delicious - fantastic perfume. You're right, Davidoff's Cool Water is boring but safe. I love the champagne flute with the heart shaped things I love about you idea. Might store that for hubby's birthday this August. Su Ann, you'd make a fantastic magazine features writer.

nice ideas, especially the bit about the hamsters. :) maybe you wanna get something that doesn't have a lifespan of 3 years though, like a pair of tortoises. only then will the love they supposedly symbolise last longer than their very own lives.
yes yes, tortoises aren't exactly cute little buggers. but they don't go squish when you sit on them, like hamsters occasionally do. don't ask me how i know.
