Aiyoh - so embarrassing lah when my husband tells me have to be careful where you go to toilet when out and about in Malaysia - and I have nothing to say in defence! VMY 2007 - what about Clean Toilets 2007 and forever more right??

Whoa! Hm. Well, you make some well points there. I assure you, I have no freaking clue what this WMY 07 was. I mean, first of all, who picked the name?! Come on now. You could have done better Mr. PM! Now, granted, even tho I never heard of WMY 07, I was planning on a South Asia Tour for myself in like the Fall, and KL was one of my stops, but now, you fucking scared the shit out of me. Corrupt taxis, high crime rate, hotels and flights are packed?! How will I ever survive? Hm...maybe I should just skip Malaysia...oh, who am I kidding, this trip will never happen, I'll just skip the entire South Asia area and just drive to the airport and then drive back home...yeah, sounds good to me. =P

i feel that despite its many shortfalls, it is these flaws that make malaysia what she is. the bad government, the corrupt law enforcers, the income and education gap, the many languages, the segregation while all bad in the concepts of equality and conscience, makes malaysia esp kl unique in a way which cannot be replicated anywhere (take sg as an example)

the bad govt is a common rallying point for most people in a land which has so many areas for disagreement to sprout. the question lies in how long this fragile balance will last.

what i can say is that the goverment is not doing much in preventing corruption and lots more (e.g. our local council and politician is damn rich that they afford to built their own mansion beside likes to talking nonsense hurting the rakyat and just go off by saying sorry or even accused the rakyat they had misunderstood him )...we will need to wait a see just how long the mas and proton will last...

That is one angry Pink. But I totally agree with Pink on the Eye (Patch) on Malaysia contraption. Those who visits or went on a ride on that thing are locals. Tourists from London must be thinking that we ciplak their idea. The tourism department should expose Malaysian cultures, traditions, foods and local stuffs. That's how VMY2007 should be and so that tourists who visits the country can appreciate something Malaysian.

Su Ann, this is impressive writing.

I've personally given up on reading our newspapers, watching tv or listening to radio, because it provides such an "edited" view of our world. I'm glad that I can come to a site written by an 18 year old and it makes more sense than some of our country's short term and long term plans.

I hope in time (at least in our life time), we, the people who have had enough of this bullshit from our elected officials (I cringe at calling them our leaders), will rise up to kick them out of office and provide better governance.

Patriotism is about love of our country and it's people, not the government, or the choices made by the government. As a democracy it is the very responsibility of the people to voice their opinions and to demand that the government listen.

anyway i said i really love this country to bits, with or without all its flawed splendour. although at times i wish this place is a tiny bit better, the govt is a tiny bit more efficient, just slightly less corrupted, ministers just a little less ridiculous, ppl just slightly less obnoxious.

but i'm tired of wishing. and i don't have the guts to write something like this. i think i'm succumbing to the mentality this govt is trying to brainwash me into. it's like i wish i can stop eating but i can't sort of thing.
and i think by the time i am 30, i'll be one of those anonymous-es who leave ugly comments telling ppl to just goddamn leave the country and not complain so much, pretending everything is fine and dandy when it's clearly not.

reallybites : it's in this open-air hawker place (or food court as the sings would call it) called makansutra, next to the esplanade. aiyo it's quite hard to pick which is nicer! penang one the texture is a bit too mushy for my liking, but the taste is fantastic. singapore one crispier a bit but doesnt taste as good.

Tourism Minister Baffled by Truthful Blogger

Kuala Lumpur - Tourism Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was allegedly baffled today when a woman blogger told him an astounding piece of truth.

"She came up to me and said that I have a very large dick," Tengku Adnan allegedly said. "And then she proceeded to blog about it. About my dick. And how big it is. This is unprecedented on so many levels."

The minister came under cyber-fire in recent weeks for calling all bloggers, most of them he identified as women in an unannounced study, as liars and unemployed rumour-mongers.

"The Government spend billions each year on employed liars already - they're called politicians," Tengku Adnan allegedly said. "There is no need for more unemployed liars on the interweb."

I don't see anything wrong with calling it as you see it, which, IMHO, is what you're doing at the moment. After all, different people different viewpoints.
